Our First Fight

Fletcher and I disagree on one big issue. He insist that he sleep on his belly and I insist he sleep any way other than on his belly. I have talked to EVERYONE about it including the doctor and the outcome was 50/50. Younger people say no because of SIDS and older people say go ahead. He completely refuses to sleep on his back and left side. He will sleep on his right side but for a short period of time.

I started back to work this week and we are learning how to time manage. Sunday night was rough and Fletcher and I ended up in the guest bed so he could sleep on his stomach with me watching him. (Which I said I would never do, boy how things change) He ate at 8pm and didn't wake me up until 1:30am!!! I have watched him on MANY occasions while he sleeps on his tummy and he can pick his head up all the way and turn. So, after 10 weeks of fighting, it is easy to see who won. I'm sure it's not the last time I lose with this sweet boy:)

Just so you know, I enabled the "comments" function so feel free to lend any advice to this clueless first time mommy! (just click on "comments" at the end of the post)

Liam (and the rest of my friends' babies) all sleep on their tummy. As soon as we let him, he slept throught the night.

Reese sleeps on his belly, too. After spending seven weeks holding him at night and/or letting him sleep between Lofton and I so we could watch him, I invested in an Angelcare monitor. It monitors breathing and made me much more comfortable leaving him on his belly in his room.
